Singing School

Dress Code

It is our desire, in this section, to provide suggestions as well as guidelines for choosing attire which will be comfortable as well as pleasing to God.  Please keep in mind that the majority of the daytime hours in Walker County, are extremely hot.  All persons who attend should be able to be comfortable in the heat.
Clothing should be lightweight and loose--fitting.  However, modesty, in the true meaning of the word, is an absolute necessity for all—we do not wish to offend our brothers and sisters of any age.

Please help your family members select suitable clothing in keeping with our Guidelines below and also make any friends you bring aware of them.  These requirements apply to all students, volunteers and parents.

  • Girls 12 years of age and under may wear shorts of modest length and fit.
  • Girls over 12 years of age should wear modest slacks, jeans (no holes) and dresses that cover the knees when sitting down, girls may wear capris-pants that are loose fitting.
  • Shirts must be loose fitting.  No tank tops or spaghetti straps. (A sleeveless blouse with a wide strap that comes to the shoulder may be worn.)
  • Each girl must wear a housecoat or robe over sleep wear, except when sleeping.
  • All girls will wear modest dresses or skirts and blouses at the Friday night evening assembly.

Note:  Due to the location, girls will not be required to wear dresses at the night assemblies, except for the
closing assembly on Friday night.

  • Boys 12 years of age and under may wear shorts of modest length, and fit.
  • Boys over 12 years of age will wear long pants, jeans (no holes) and shirts with sleeves, but may wear shorts that are knee length.  NO GYM SHORTS.
  • All boys will wear dress pants and dress shirts for the Friday night evening assembly.

Please do not bring shirts or blouses, or any other articles of clothing bearing unsuitable slogans or pictures.  These guidelines are important to minimize conflicts, maximize comfort and well- being, and appear attractive before one another and before God as we praise and worship Him during this week of song.    IF IN DOUBT, please leave it at home.
