GREETINGS
IN THE NAME OF OUR LORD, JESUS CHRIST, AND GOD, OUR FATHER.

Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

We are eagerly preparing for the 24th session of Harmony Highlands Singing School (HHSS).  Our theme song this year will be "Be Thou My Vision", number 236 in the 12th edition Old School Hymnal.  Our theme comes from Proverbs 29:18 – Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he (KJV).  Registration is open here from our website.

As you may have seen through different communications, work has begun on the new pavilion to replace the tent that we have used for our daily assembly.  Ground was broken in March and efforts are underway to prepare the site for a permanent structure.  Addition of the new structure will be costly on the front end with a current estimate of over $36,000.00.  However, with the new structure in place, we will no longer require a tent for our assemblies, thereby saving us over $6,500 each year.  We expect to recoup the cost of the permanent structure just from the savings on tent rental within a few years.  There will be several work events over the next couple of months that will require volunteers to be available to assist in the effort.  Please watch your e-mail for notices, as more details will be forthcoming.  If we do not have your e-mail on file, please forward it to us.

For those who are unfamiliar with our venue, HHSS 2019 will be held at the Walker County Baptist Association (WBA) campground located approximately 10 miles north of Jasper.  We have enjoyed this natural rural setting, and hope you will gain an increased opportunity for fellowship as well as an amplified feeling of God’s Spirit through the enjoyment of His creation.  We hope HHSS 2019 will be a great experience for everyone.  We welcome everyone to HHSS regardless of religious affiliation.

Camp will begin on Sunday afternoon, June 23, 2019, and students should be at the camp no later than 5:00 p.m. on that day.  Students will be accepted on a first come first served basis as accommodations are limited.  Dorm assignments will be provided to you upon arrival.  Sunday night, dinner will be served for students and their guests.  The opening session of HHSS will immediately follow dinner and will be held in the newly built pavilion.  All guests are welcome to attend the opening session.

Lord willing, we will close the 24th session of HHSS with services being held at the newly built pavilion on Friday June 29, 2018 at 6:00 PM and ending at approximately 7:30 PM.  In an effort to minimize traffic congestion and ease parking within the campground, our traffic pattern on Friday evening will stop promptly at 5:00 PM.  If you are unable to make it to camp before 5:00 PM, parking will be available at the top of the hill across from the chapel until it is full and then continued up the hill near the WBA Caretaker’s house.

And finally, without volunteers, HHSS does not exist.  Thank you for the hard work and sacrifices made to assist with the organization, facilitation, and execution provided each year and we hope we can count on you again!  We give thanks to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, for your continued support, loving labor, gifts of food and financial donations.  Every effort of yours to assist is deeply appreciated.  Continue to pray for us.

Sincerely,

Lance Hocutt, President
